At least three Taliban forces were killed and six others injured on Wednesday in an explosion in Badakhshan province, located in northeast of Afghanistan, told Hikmatullah Mohammadi, head of ministry of information and culture of Badakhshan.
A document from Burhanuddin Rabani Hospital in the province, indicates that explosion was caused by a magnetic mine.
The explosion targeted Taliban convoy around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, in Pul -e- Juzgoon area of Faiz Abad city.
Citizens in Badakhshan say that the blast targeted Taliban’s counternarcotics chief in the province.
The explosion occurred while the Taliban’s delegation was in Badakhan to investigate widespread anti-government protests in the province.
